It's Funny How These Things Work

I never really cared one way or the other about Eric Bana, and then I met David Benioff, and he looks a lot like Eric Bana, and he's really cool and down to earth and humble and his novel is great, and now I whenever I see Eric Bana in a movie I'm like, "Hey, good guy."

If Felicia "Snoop" Pearson Made a Hip Hop Album

I'd buy that shit. Like at the store.

I wonder what they talked about

Informative

This morning, I got an email with the following subject line:

"My crotch area is too tight right now."

Good to know.

People Need to Work on Their Social Awareness

The other day I was walking back from the market with a baguette, and this woman looked at me like I was going to mug her. Lady, you're not going to get mugged by a guy carrying a baguette. This isn't Marseilles.

Other people in my neighborhood who probably won't mug you:
  • The guy on the Metro wearing a "Screenwriting Expo 2008" t-shirt.
  • The guy walking the bichon-frises.
  • The guy humming "Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before" by The Smiths.
  • Adrian Grenier.

Things I Love Right Now: An Incomplete List

The baritone saxophone solo in Lykke Li's "Dance Dance Dance." As a former baritone saxophonist (an award winning one, no less), I'm thrilled to see the bari coming back into vogue.

Six Feet Under. I'm watching this series again from the beginning and really enjoying it. I still don't know whether or not I'm suppose to like Nate. I think that's probably the mark of a deep, well-written character. I always leaned toward thinking he was a dick (even though he looks a little like me), but at the close of season 2, I think differently.

Coffee. I don't know if you've tried this stuff yet, but it's the shit. I predict it will be very big in 2009. Yum.

Twitter. "I don't give a shit whether you had to wait too long at Starbucks or why you're so into Animal Collective." You don't get it (and if I might put on my work hat right now (a pointy hat kind of like a Kaiser helmet), it's quite useful. Information spreads on Twitter faster than anywhere else.

Tumblr. Fucked if I know how to use this, but it sure is fun.

Lala.com. Offering DRM-free music long before Apple decided to get wise to it. You can have a lot of fun checking out other people's profiles and playlists. Or you can listen to "PYT" a whole bunch of times for free.

Speaking of Lala, "Outta Hand" by Dinosaur Jr. What an incredible song.

My new Ralph Lauren blazer. It's very versatile, and can be dressed up or down. I like to wear it with a simple button down shirt and jeans and try to affect the look of a 1920s Parisian painter, because I'm a pretentious dick.

Dance music. I'm really into dancing right now. Not at a club or anything, but alone or with my wife in our apartment. It's fun.

The Gospel According to the Interweb

"And on the fourth day, the Lord created Unremitting Failure, and he saw that it was good. And he commanded the people to go forth and read it. And the people read it, and they saw that it was good."

Other sites that the Lord thought were pretty good:
